Summer Fun
Summer Fun
On lazy days of summer vacation
playing on the banks of the old creek
youthful energy taking us through the woods
on little legs,
running to the point in the creek that's deep enough
to swim on those hot days of gold,
took advantage of everything before us
with no after thoughts
with no fears,
for we were young
and no bullet or disease could stop us then

Jump
Jump
Know nothing is nothing
and no one changes that but
no one
Sinking deeper into the abyss
further down the ladder
the last step isn't there,
already took it
its not really there
and you saw it anyway,
Jump
down and down
two feet in the sink hole...
Life

Sorry Day
Sorry Day
Awakening in the stillness
calmness of the morning
looking,searching for what is right
or wronged
by society of the giant head
that be-bops by,
taking a drag of a cigarette
that was rolled by the hand
of an enlightened monk,
with tears coming down his cheek
because of something so perfect
took away from him so soon,
used up, done away with
he mediates under a dull sun
that has nothing left,
and the moon's brightness
blinds him

Full Circle
Full Circle
Scent of patchouli lingering
turning off the madness of the TV
with a flip of the switch,
Scott chanting lyrics
in the ears of our guests,
pass the bottle of cheap wine
bought at a cheaper store
my town=your town
cities the same
name is all that's different
no better life anywhere than here,
same here that's there
in my pocket...some change
to buy another bottle...cheap

Complacent Stillness
I'm thinking I need to add another one today, after the last one I posted.
Complacent Stillness
of highways and byways
in America of the abyss,
families settle down at night
for TV hour of sitcoms
imitating life in Hollywood
-that's fake false sense-
to teenagers in the country
of that's life in the real world,
to grow up with no real world
and still watching the giant eye

Robot Love
Before I post the poem, I just want to say that in my early years of the Army that I was a very angry person. This poem was written during some of my most angry time.
Robot Love
Ideas fade in the minds of computers
taught me what you wanted me to know,
drill into my mind your killing tactics
rules and regulations to make me like another
uniforms so you can't tell me from my brother,
a well oiled clock
ticking a countdown,
rebellious thoughts make eyes glow red
time is here to rip away...
Anger fades with blood stained hands

Late Night Diner
Late Night Diner
Hat full of luck over flows in my dreams
as fast as the waitress not playing attention to my cup
and reality is a crash with someone yelling loser,
nothing is as real as what I've done today
even my tomorrow will not compare to my yesterdays,
filled with uncertain thoughts as life flys by
feeling I've lost something but never really had it,
to start with nothing, leave with nothing...
Life is real,
had something once but forgot what it was
so it doesn't count,
matches fall out of a box like friends forgotten
spiderwebs all that's left, memories caught for dinner
prisoners with nowhere to go,
in my mind they struggle everyday
