On the Way
8th street bums sitting
on the corner of 7th heaven,
when a little boy asks
"What's ya doin here?"
sidewalk is cracked
on the way up to downtown
little kids playing on steps
laughing, crying
skinned up knees hurt
band aid helps though,
All you need is a little lovin
